WS SIG (SF): Web Services Management
Come hear Actional & AmberPoint's perspective on how Web Service Management can help enterprises reduce their deployment & maintenance costs for web services.
Organizations looking to take their Web services into production face a number of new challenges. They must ensure the performance and availability of their loosely coupled systems, manage Web services across multiple machines, set and maintain appropriate service levels across federated environments, and address new requirements for security. Due to the distributed, heterogeneous nature of these evolutionary systems, Web services raise management issues that are beyond the scope of traditional enterprise and network systems management solutions. During this presentation, we will take a look at the management requirements of Web services-based systems, discuss the IT and business benefits of Web services management, and examine how enterprise IT organizations are implementing management solutions to deploy trustworthy, enterprise-class Web services.
Service Oriented Architectures based on Web services promise IT the ability to more quickly and agiley respond to changing business needs at a much lower cost than traditional computing architectures. However, without proper management, better, cheaper, faster, can easily become slower and more expensive. This presentation takes quick look at the challenges of managing Web Services Based SOAs, and how Actional's customers are scaling Web services to gain time to market and competitive advantage today.
