Venture Startup and Financing SIG: New Venture Product Planning and Launch - The Do’s and the Don’ts – Monday, May 21, 2012

Join us for a lively panel discussion on the Do’s and Don’ts of Product Planning and Launch for the New Venture. We have all heard that getting a great product to market is important, but there is nothing quite like doing it the first time for your new startup. Our panel will provide insights as well as suggestions on choosing the right market focus, how to get from idea to beta to launch, and how to shorten the development cycle between releases. Other topics will include product roadmaps and their importance, and deciding whether you are an application, a platform, or both.

Key questions for the panel will include:

-How do you plan your first product, what features do you build now, which ones later?
-How does your product stack up versus that of the competition; do features and functions matter more than usability?
-Where do you look to build a great development team; how can you tell if they will work well together?
-At what stage do you use outside/contract developers versus off-shoring?
