    Presentation Overview

    .NET - A Working Developer's View

We've already heard about .NET from Microsoft, from third party vendors and from people who've experimented with the beta. Our November meeting will feature Martin Triplett, a 14-year veteran developer at Magenic Technologies, who has been using .NET to build real applications for real clients. His presentation will provide an overview and introduction of what .NET is and what a .NET application looks like. We'll see demonstrations of capabilities such as web forms, winforms, and the data engine ADO.NET, as well as information on the languages - especially VB.NET - and the platform foundation. Martin also will show demo applications and sample code, and he should leave you with a good understanding of what .NET is and how it will affect you in your own development activities.
