Monthly Meeting of the New Open Source Software SIG

Delivering Open Source to the Enterprise
Mainstream enterprises have adopted open source like Linux and Apache with increased assurance. What has tipped their opinions in favor of open source? According to a Forrester report, open source users cite lower cost and greater choice. But are there tradeoffs and how do emerging open source vendors address the requirements of the enterprise CIO? As open source solution providers move up the value chain, where do enterprises plan to adopt open source in the future? Why have some projects been successful, and what applications and opportunities remain?
Our panel this month is made up of three founders of open source startups. They demonstrate success in open source infrastructure and application software, and in delivering open source integration services to the enterprise. Join us for this informative session.
