About the Speakers
Andre L. Marais
Andre L. Marais is a registered patent attorney and shareholder of Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner. His practice includes strategic IP counseling, patent prosecution (US and foreign), patent validity, infringement and clearance analysis and opinions, and IP due diligence work, particularly in the networking (including Internet), software, communications and electrical/electronic technologies.
An entrepreneur for over 20 years, David is the founder of Tynax, the technology trading exchange which facilitates technology transfer among professionals from all areas of research, development, and commercialization. He is also president of Astecs, the Association of Technology Entrepreneurs and author of the book Zero-to-IPO. As a technologist and software inventor in the 1990’s, he created the worlds’ first virtual tradeshow on CD-ROM, the first CD-ROM to be filled with paid advertising and the leading web browser and safety service for kids. His technology inventions have been awarded U.S. patents and his products have won critical acclaim all over the world.
