POSTPONED! SF: Build a Great Company w/Limited Resources

  • Rescheduled for Tuesday, September 11 at San Fran: WTC!

John Younger (Bio), President & CEO, Accolo

During the days of big budgets, companies simply hired large numbers of people and threw money at new opportunities. Today, things are different and all companies are minimizing expenses. Companies need to work smarter to take advantage of this down market and eclipse the competition.

The challenge to any company is to produce the same great results with only the basic resources and staff. John Younger, a successful entrepreneur and staffing expert, will bring insight into creating an organization that is positioned to perform. Reaching milestones with limited resources provides job satisfaction and looks great to potential investors.

    Come learn strategies for:

    • Defining the new organization
    • Organizing and motivating the team to excel
    • Keeping top performers
    • Producing like you have a bigger staff
    • Do's and don'ts of managing in a down market

Breaking a world record for rowing endurance is just one of the accomplishments by which you’ll learn how John Younger drives himself and his Accolo Team. John came to recruitment and human resources from a systems engineering and programming background. As a Vice President of human resources for Bank of America, John led technical recruitment for an organization of 16,000 people, including implementing innovative programs to identify applicants and developing and modifying applicant tracking systems.

John launched y/net, a completely outsourced staffing and recruitment solution, which was acquired by TriNet in November 1996. His organization within TriNet, called Venture Talent, focuses on recruiting for start-up and pre-IPO technology companies. TriNet has been one of Inc. Magazine’s 500 fastest growing companies in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999. John left TriNet in October 2000 to start Accolo, the first large scale employment co-operative.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame in Mathematics and Computer Science and former member of the Unites States National Rowing Team, John still rows regularly and is actively involved in fund raising for schools, local community and scholarship funds.
