Emerging Tech SIG: Overview of Micropayments
The Monthly Meeting of the Emerging Technology SIG
The idea of micropayments has a long, and somewhat checkered, history in the software industry. Many companies have come and gone, and still others are jumping into the market. Bitpass is one of the latest companies to enter the space, and with something of a different take.
In this talk, Kurt Huang, President and Chief Product Officer will provide an overview of micropayments, both past and future, and discuss major lessons learned in the recent growth of the market and in the recent investing environment.
Recent investment by Disney's Steamboat Ventures and First Data Corp, the world's largest payment processor, suggest that this market is poised for growth. Come hear what Kurt has to say about the opportunities that exist for new business models and the companies that are taking advantage of them.
