ET SIG: Introduction to RFID and the EPC Network Architecture

This presentation will introduce Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), the EPC Network architecture, and the hardware and software behind it. A Java based RFID system will be demonstrated. The presentation will also describe the relevance of RFID throughout the Supply Chain, and the technical and business factors driving its adoption.
About the Presenter
Ricardo Labiaga is a Staff Engineer at Sun Microsystems, Inc., where he concentrates on the development of RFID and networking technologies. He is the co-chair of the EPCglobal Reader Management Workgroup, responsible for the specification of RFID Management Standards. He is also the co-author of Managing NFS and NIS (O'Reilly).
Ricardo holds a master of science degree in Computer Engineering and a bachelor of science in Computer Science from The University of Texas at El Paso.
