Multimodal SIG - The Promise of RFID:A Conversation with IBM Executives

  • The Monthly Meeting of the Multimodal Interactive SIG

    Presentation Overview

The transformational promise of RFID, and sensors and actuators in general, is exciting. These technologies, coupled with process change, can bring customers significant business value by empowering executives to make fast, accurate decisions to improve efficiency, update business processes, and find new ways to reduce costs. A growing proportion of IBM's customers are looking to increase their RFID and Machine to Machine (M2M) efforts, and IBM now has the program infrastructure and strategy to both address our customers' agendas and enhance our partner ecosystem. At the center of IBM's commitment to this market space is the Sensors and Actuators (S&A) Solution Unit, which drives the RFID related efforts across IBM's hardware, software and services to deliver solutions to the on demand enterprise.
