    Business Intelligence and the High-Velocity Supply Chain

    Intelligent Supply Chain Control is emerging as the next breakthrough category in getting better performance out of today's collaborative supply chains. In markets such as high tech, where manufacturing is typically outsourced, products are highly configurable and customer demand changes rapidly, businesses routinely write off millions in excess or obsolete inventory as a cost of doing business. Without the ability to see inside contract manufacturer or supplier operations, these businesses suffer the effects of delayed information, lost opportunities and a loss of control. A new model of intelligent supply chain control is needed to support these high-velocity supply chains.

    • Simplified visibility across the extended supply chain that allows companies to add new participants or systems easily
    • Proactive identification of exceptions and changes in supply chain information
    • Analysis of impact
    • Guidance and corrective action
    • A platform for collaboration and communication

    The ability to gain real-time visibility and control over unplanned changes in their extended supply chains will allow companies to increase their revenues by better balancing supply with demand, decrease inventory costs by reducing write-offs, and increase customer satisfaction by performing more reliably.


    About the Presenter

    Walt Rossi

    Walt has over 14 years of experience in marketing and sales leadership with leading high-tech companies, most recently as VP of Products for Kana Software, where he led product management and product marketing. Walt went to Kana through its acquisition of Broadbase Software, where he served as VP of Product Marketing and Field Marketing. At Broadbase, he was instrumental in driving the IPO process, successfully acquiring and integrating six companies and growing the company to over $100 million in sales. Before that, Walt was Director of Product Marketing at E.piphany. He also held marketing and sales positions with PeopleSoft, Intrepid Systems (acquired by PeopleSoft) NCR, and Teradata. Walt holds a B.A. in Economics from Boston College.
