Yahoo Authentication: Enabling user specific mashups

Web2.0 applications, such as Flickr, del.icio.us and Upcoming.org are getting more popular among web applications today. They often expose APIs that allow developers to build mashups, which combine various Web service for a greater good! With web service authentication being available, applications that work with user specific data can be created.

In this talk, Dan Theurer will discuss how secure web service authentication works and give away details about Yahoo's soon to be released version of it. He will give a quick overview of the various Web services and AJAX toolkits offered by the Yahoo! Developer Network, and show how all these different pieces can be put together to create mashups serving user specific content.
