SVForum relies on volunteer leadership and the expertise of our members to help us meet our goals and objectives. From our Board of Directors to our company and student members, the contribution of every volunteer is essential to making SVForum work for all of us. Volunteering with SVForum provides a great opportunity to meet and network with other industry professionals while contributing your expertise to an event or program important to the industry.
Position: SIG Leader
SVForum is always looking for SIG leaders to assist and manage the very successful SIG program. Most SIG leaders first work on small aspects of the SIG before being promoted to SIG leadership. SIG leadership is earned and based on successful management of volunteer responsibilities. To volunteer for one of the SIGs, you should first attend the SIG that you are interested in and talk with the current SIG leader to discuss how you may become more involved. SIG Leadership provides you with the: the Opportunity to network with your colleagues; Opportunity to talk and meet with leading experts in your field of interest; Experience in developing and leading a group; Free annual membership after 3 months of volunteer work as a SIG Co-Chair to extend as long as involvement continues; Opportunity to attend our annual Visionary Event at a special discounted price; Complimentary attendance to at least one designated SVForum event per month; Name in newsletter and on the website; Opportunity to receive a free passes to an industry events; Invitation to volunteer get-together meetings, as well as participating in a great organization with great people!

Responsibilities include: Recruiting presenters for monthly meetings; Managing updates to the SIG pages and sending out email blasts; Promoting your meetings through SVForum and Meetup groups; Attendance and MC at each of the meetings; Work with 2-3 other co-chairs to choose timely and educational topics, etc.
Position: Organizing Committee Member (for larger events)
The organizing committee’s main goal is to provide input and direction on topics, identify and recruit speakers, and support with your subject expertise and guidance where appropriate.
The time commitment is generally 5-10 hours over several months with one in-person meeting and follow up correspondence where needed. Responsibilities included topic and content ideas, writing event descriptions, and speaker suggestions and introductions.

Position: Event Volunteers
The event volunteers assist on-site during our full day conference events in a variety of ways including working the registration table, video-recording, photography, writing, blogging and tweeting .
Shifts are typically scheduled for 2 – 4 hours.
