As an entrepreneur, you will endeavor to take your start-up on the financial path to success. Prior to executing your plan, you will need to develop a thorough understanding of how your financial roadmap will unfold over the next 5 years. This roadmap will provide you with a clear vision of your objectives and milestones to share with your management team, lenders and investors.
In this workshop, you will see a live demonstration of how to craft a financial roadmap for your start-up. Anthony Nassar will demonstrate the process of building an integrated financial model in a spreadsheet that projects the income statement (revenues, expenses, earnings), balance sheet, statement of cash flows, staffing, office space and equipment needs for a software start-up over a period of 5 years. He will discuss how the financial model can be integrated into the business plan, and how the financial projections may be used in conjunction with valuation assumptions to project the start-up's capitalization structure at various funding events.
This is a technical workshop designed for start-up entrepreneurs who are in the process of developing their business plan and seeking angel or VC funding. In this workshop, you will learn:
- A methodology to develop a financial plan, and techniques for preserving scalability and data integrity as you make subsequent updates to the plan
- How to project the ownership of the founders, employees, and investors, and the return on investment over the life of the plan
- Which snapshots are of interest to investors, and which ones are relevant to the various members of the management team.
Plus! A panel of investors will share their insights on how they view and evaluate the financial planning information they receive from entrepreneurs.
