This could be the introduction you've been waiting for! Jim Robbins, (bio), and Brad McManus, (bio), of Panasonic Ventures will be hosting a VC One-on-One session with start-up members of SDForum. These private 25-minute appointments provide the face-time your company needs to pitch for funding and make a valuable connection in the investor community.
Mr. Robbins & Mr. McManus would like to meet with early stage companies with demonstrable, defensible technology in the following areas:

Jim Robbins acts as the Executive Director of the Panasonic Incubator. In 1994, he co-developed the first software incubator in California, the San Jose Software Business Cluster. Since its opening, this Cluster has created 850 new jobs and attracted over $175 million in venture funding for start-up tenants. Robbins continues to hold the position of executive director for both the Software Business Cluster and the Environmental Business Cluster. Other projects include the Digital Equipment Business Enterprise Cluster of Northern California, the Communications Technology Cluster in Oakland, Calif., the Women's Technology Cluster for women starting multimedia, software and Internet companies in San Francisco, Calif., and an advanced transportation incubator for CALSTART.
Robbins helped start and service over 20 engineering groups at Digital Equipment Corporation as Northern California Business Manager for Engineering. Prior to DEC, he worked at the US Supreme Court and practiced law as a trial attorney. Robbins is on the Advisory Boards of five incubators and is also Vice Chair of the Pacific Incubation Network. He is a frequent speaker on issues regarding new business formation and technology-focused incubation.
Brad brings to the PDCC over twenty years of combined experience in building startups and investing in high growth companies. His eight years of finance and operations experience for early stage companies included his serving as CFO and VP Operations for Startups.com (funded by Redleaf and Garage Technology Ventures), an accelerator services company for fast track startup companies. He has also raised tens of millions in funding for venture stage companies.
Earlier in his career, Brad managed over $150 million in equity portfolios. The investment focus during those twelve years centered on publicly traded high technology, medical and biotechnology and other high growth companies. Brad was a portfolio manager at Harris Trust in Chicago and Guild Investment (which he co-owned) in Los Angeles.
Brad earned a BS in finance and economics and a MBA from Northern Illinois University.
