    These private, 25-minute meetings allow start-up members to request advice, make a pitch for funding or get feedback on a business plan. These appointments are filled by random selection from all pre-registered Start-Up members who fit the eligibility criteria outlined in the VC One on One Process.

    Bill Shott
    President of and Member of Angel Breakfast Club is a venture catalyst firm focused on providing advisory counsel and startup capital to entrepreneurs, founders, and CEO's of early stage technology based companies. specializes in identifying promising early stage technology companies and working with the founding team to build a successful business. Key areas of focus typically include assisting entrepreneurs with business plan development; fund-raising; executive recruiting; strategic partnering; and general day to day startup counsel. Bill Shott has a network of investors as well as professional service providers who can quickly bring valuable experience and financial backing to the early stage company.

    Bill brings over 15 years of high technology business management experience to his work with emerging companies. He has started and run three technology based businesses. His first business was a captive software reseller within Convergent Technologies. The second was Unix Central, an award winning Unix software publisher and reseller that was sold to Bell Micro products. The third, PlaceWare, is an Internet based live presentation software developer that was spun out of Xerox PARC.

    In addition to starting and running companies, Bill has had functional operating roles in product management, marketing, business development and sales. He has raised over $20 million in both seed and first round financings and has experience both selling businesses as well as developing and managing strategic relationships.

    In addition to the companies he has started, Bill has held management positions at Network Computing Devices (VP Marketing), Convergent Technologies (General Manager) and Hewlett Packard (Product Manager).

    Bill received a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley (1981) and an MBA from Stanford University (1987). He has served on the Boards of PlaceWare Inc. and Woodside Technologies.

    Angel Breakfast Club (ABC)
    The ABC actively works with early stage software, Internet, and communications companies in Silicon Valley by providing capital, contacts, industry knowledge, and hands-on skills. The ABC seeks to enhance the experience for budding entrepreneurs by providing extra assistance and education the promise of uncovering outstanding investment opportunities.

    ABC members are individuals that exhibit exceptional abilities in the incubation and management of early stage technology companies and are active in Silicon Valley's entrepreneurial and investment communities. These individuals either represent early stage venture capital funds or are entrepreneurs and executives that have held leadership roles in emerging software, Internet, and communications companies.
