After several sessions of consumer companies, we'll hear from Mike Abbott, founder of a couple leading enterprise start-ups: Composite Software and Electron Economy.
About the Presenter
Mike Abbott, Founder, Composite Software
Michael Abbott founded Composite Software in 2001 and has raised $22.75 million dollars in financing to date. Composite Software is pioneering the development of a next-generation enterprise information integration product called the Composite Information Server. The Composite Information Server provides a single interface that allows for querying of web services, XML files, relational databases and directories in real-time. The product has won numerous awards and is the recognized leader in the space.
Prior to founding Composite, he was the founding engineer and CTO of Electron Economy, a supply chain optimization software company that was acquired by Viewlocity in 2001. Prior to Electron Economy, he was a Director at USWeb/CKS, where he led the design and implementation of large scale enterprise engagements involving multiple development teams. He has published widely and speaks regularly on database and XML topics and participates on JSR Expert Group, on the XML Query Working Group at the W3C, is an angel investor and was the founder/chair of the XML Sig for the Software Development Forum for the several years. Abbott completed coursework towards a Ph.D. at the University of Washington and is a member of IEEE and ACM.
