Voice SIG: Unified Communications
Cisco Voice Technology Center's Unified Communications Programs.
Martin Dragomirecky, Product Manager - Cisco Systems
Cisco's Unified Communications (UC) initiative provides an open infrastructure for Cisco partners and Service Providers to create new, profitable and cost-effective voice, fax and messaging services. Unified Communications is the convergence of multiple media types used for synchronous or asynchronous (messaging) communication on top of a common IP infrastructure. This talk will present Cisco's packet telephony gateway UC environment and solutions, including the VoiceXML 'browser', Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP), a new protocol to control media and speech servers, as well as Openwave UM application.
