    Building voice applications on a large scale can be challenging! Mike will talk about some of the difficulties BeVocal encountered in creating real, world-class voice applications and infrastructure, and how they were addressed.

    Speaker Profile

    Michael Pogue

    As Vice President of Software Development, Michael Pogue is responsible for the development of application software for all of BeVocal's voice portal solutions. He manages BeVocal's team of developers to ensure high quality, on-time delivery of all applications. With almost 20 years in engineering management, Michael is an experienced and versatile leader of software development, with specific talents in building, organizing, and leading groups of employees, setting technical vision, and successfully delivering high-quality products on-time. Prior to joining BeVocal, he drove the development of IBM's XML parser technologies in C++ and Java, and Taligent's operating system and graphics libraries. Michael is also a founding member of xml.apache.org, which focuses on Open Source development of XML-based products. He holds a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
