    Presentation Overview

    First, as a follow-up to our February meeting we will hear from a principal at Apax venture partners on start-up opportunities in the security space, and key success factors from a private investors perspective.

    Second, we'll hear from a disaster recovery expert on how to best plan to assure continuity of your business after an IT disaster. We will cover network topology, facilities requirements, and best practices for data centers.

     

    About the Presenters

    Chris Neitzert, Head of Network Operations at Redundant Networks

    Chris Neitzert comes to Redundant Networks with respected expertise in Internet security and a strong commitment to UNIX and Opensource. Chris was most recently with Grand Central Networks, a leading web-services network in San Francisco. As Systems and Network Security Manager there, he was responsible for performing internal security audits of systems, networks, policies, and Grand Central applications. Before that, Chris served as Grand Central's Network Operations Manager, where he designed and implemented the company's infrastructure from alpha to 1.1 versions. Chris has also held a variety of senior-level positions in information technology and information services at companies including Razorfish, where he built that company's global IT infrastructure from the ground up.

    Neeraj Bharadwaj, Principal at Apax Partners

    Neeraj Bharadwaj joined the firm in 1999 and focuses on wireless and mobile data, security, and web services investments. He serves on the Boards of Directors of JAMDAT Mobile and Corporate Oxygen; is a Board Observer of Canesta, Inc.; and is actively involved with Oblix, Inc. Other investments he has been involved with include Mesh Networks, Inc.; Wynd (acquired by GoAmerica); Webraska; Upoc, Inc.; and Axeda Systems, Inc.

    Prior to joining Apax, Mr. Bharadwaj was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, Inc., where he consulted with wireless, telecommunications and enterprise software clients on a variety of strategic, operational, and organizational issues. Mr. Bharadwaj also has worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co.

    Mr. Bharadwaj is a frequent speaker/panelist at industry conferences, including Technologic Partners' "Mobile Outlook", SRI's "Global Wireless Summit", EyeforWireless' "Wireless LAN Summit", EIC's "Embedded Internet Conference", "Mobile 2001", etc. He is a Board Member of the Wireless Communications Alliance (WCA) and is a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE).

    Mr. Bharadwaj graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in economics from The Wharton School and in mathematics from the College of Arts and Sciences. At Penn, he was a Ben Franklin Scholar and received the Zweig Fellowship for Financial Research. He also holds an M.B.A. with distinction from the Harvard Business School.
