SAM SIG: Test-Driven Development & Software Architecture
The Monthly Meeting of the SAM SIG
Topic: Test-Driven Development and Software Architecture
Presenter: Rob Myers, NetObjectives, Extreme Programming coach and Agile practices and object-oriented design techniques mentor
We’ll discuss how Test-Driven Development techniques and software architecture affect each other. Rob will give a brief overview of the two primary areas where TDD is applied in an agile development process. Rob will then open up the discussion to questions and concerns about how TDD fits into the overall process, how it impacts architecture, how architecture impacts testing, and how testers, developers, and architects can work together to get a quality product delivered.
Rob Myers has over 20 years of professional experience in software development. Rob's career spans pharmaceutical, medical, aerospace, and financial industries. In the late 1990s, Rob became an Extreme Programming coach and traveled the country assisting teams with Agile practices and object-oriented design techniques.
