    Joerg Sperling

    Before joining Ridgewood Capital, Mr. Sperling held several positions at Infineon Technologies AG (formerly Siemensí Semiconductor Group). There he was in DRAM sales and served customers such as Compaq, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM, with sales totaling $170 million. Most recently, he served as the North American investment manager for Infineon Ventures, which had a total fund size of over $100 million. Mr. Sperling has also worked at AT&T Bell Labs in New Jersey and the Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel, specializing in the field of III/IV semiconductors for optical applications. Mr. Sperling currently serves on the boards of Aralight, Bristlecone, Gigabit Optics, Kobalt Interactive, Nova Crystals, Opticalis, Orchid Lightwave Communications and Sycon Design. He is an observer on the board of Radiant Photonics and uTOK. He holds a masters degree in electrical engineering from the University of Aachen in Germany.

    He is a frequent speaker at venture capital conferences and in public radio. 3 years ago he founded the ìGerman High-Tech Stammtischî which today has more than 400 German members in the Valley.

    Joerg moved to the Bay Area about 4 years ago and enjoys the Silicon Valley venture business now for more than 3 years. Joerg lives with his wife and 2 kids in Mountain View, CA.
