    Presentation Overview

Paul Hoff, from Portal Software, which makes software that helps ASPs bill their customers, will talk about current and emerging ASP pricing models. In addition, he will also highlight some of the components of successful pricing plans so that software developers can understand how to both web enable AND "billing enable" their applications.

Although the majority of ASPs are currently charging for their services on a flat rate, per user, per application basis; the future will not be so simple. ASPs who can charge for the applications they host using a variety of methods will be competitive, will have audiences and will be more successful in the long run. Enabling many of these new pricing models requires that the software developer to design them into the application from the beginning. Establish billing components that are 'billing friendly' will be key.
