    Presentation Overview

    Mobile Television and Media Applications

Mobile TV and media applications are two key drivers of next generation user experience on the handset. In this event, we have invited MobiTV and Nayio Media, two pioneers in the arena, to speak about the vast opportunities and challenges of these emerging services. Here are some excerpts about the companies:

MobiTV – USA Today, September 27, 2005 Potential partners laughed at first. But in November 2003, Sprint became the first wireless carrier to offer Paul Scanlan, Phillip Alvelda and Jeff Annison's MobiTV to consumers. Last week, Sprint and MobiTV received a special Emmy award for their efforts. The $10-a-month service, now also offered by Cingular, has attracted 500,000 subscribers.

Nayio Media –Internet News, September 20, 2006 From iTunes to Rhapsody to Microsoft's forthcoming Zune player, online music is hot. But Nayio Media thinks consumers are missing out on a critical element – interactivity... Consumers will be able to download and purchase songs in Nayio's Virtual Music Player (VMP) format, which lets them sing along with the artist. "The Web site is going to be like American Idol meets YouTube," said Bose. Nayio users will be able to post their efforts for others to judge, and there are plans to offer prizes for those voted the best.
