In the early days of the internet, many companies implemented a step change in customer experience as more services were moved online. The internet made services easier to use and more readily accessible, which was beneficial for both businesses and customers. Today, the maturity of both mobility and social media are leading to another larger step change in the way that companies interact with their customers. More than simply being online, this next generation of services will be far more Social, Location-aware, and perhaps most importantly, Personal. Customers experience social interactions and influences, they act in specific locations and contexts, and they share more of their personal data and interests online. These trends, taken together, create opportunities for valuable new modes of customer experience. We encapsulate these ideas as SLoPe.
The SLoPe session will describe the technological trends that make SLoPe possible. We will also discuss the conceptual and cultural changes that accompany the technology changes rethinking customer behaviors and expectations. We'll share examples of early SLoPe applications, as well as working demonstrations of how SLoPe can take us much further, incorporating concepts such as Augmented Reality, Gamification, and Social Influence. Finally, we'll discuss the advantages of SLoPe, and the business value that will materialize when a business interacts with their customers in ways that are more Social, Local, and Personal.
About the Speaker:
Kelly Dempski, Managing Director, Accenture Technology Labs, Silicon Valley
Kelly Dempski manages the Silicon Valley team that leads Accenture’s technology innovation agenda, which includes the creation of an annual Technology Vision that defines new technology trends and opportunities. The research group establishes early thought leadership, and develops new applications for emerging technologies.
Kelly leads the overall group in our Silicon Valley location, as well as the activities in the R&D area of “Multi-Channel Interactions”, an area that is focused on establishing new integrated channels that an enterprise can use to engage with a customer across a range of contexts and devices. In this role, Kelly has patented many innovations in fields ranging from large interactive screens to social networking and knowledge management.
Kelly holds an Engineering degree from the University of Illinois, and joined Accenture in 1994. He has written three books and numerous papers. He is a frequent speaker on the subject of technology trends and innovation.
