April joined Sequoia Capital in 1999 after spending over a decade in retained executive search. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital, she was a member of the International Technology Practice of Heidrick & Struggles and a member of the firm's Silicon Valley office management team. April received a B.A. degree in Social Psychology with an emphasis in Business Administration from UCLA. As Sequoia Capital's recruiting partner, April provides newly funded entrepreneurs with a "start-up kit" to assist them in all aspects of recruitment, from initial organization needs assessment through an executive search process. She also provides continued guidance on issues pertaining to people. With the "start-up kit", young companies in Sequoia Capital's portfolio can assess their current organization structure to identify any skills gaps. This assessment, along with the plan for scaling the organization, enables our portfolio companies to attract the most appropriate executives to their management teams.
