When is an interview NOT an interview? When it is an "informational" interview, otherwise known as an informational meeting?

A great way to expand your network and learn more about career alternatives is through informational interviewing, that is, meeting with people who are working in a field you want to explore. Tense about calling and asking for people's time? Learn and practice the exact words you'll need to use to get someone to meet with you.

In this workshop you will learn to prepare for, conduct, and follow-up on informational meetings with professional polish. You'll leave knowing:

    • where to find the people who you'd most benefit from meeting.
    • how to contact them and get them to agree to meet with you.
    • what to say, and how to listen during the meeting.
    • how to gracefully conclude and follow-up from your meeting.
    • common traps to avoid during informational meetings.
