Lydia M. Rivera -Senior Vice President Employee Benefits
Lydia Rivera started in the insurance industry in 1978 and brings vast experience in the Employee Benefits field working with employers of all sizes. She brings a creative outlook to all clients and has implemented various Flexible Plan Designs. She has a strong commitment to client problem solving.
Lydia became a member of the ABD team in May of 1991 after spending nine years as head of the Group Division of a local employee benefits firm. In that capacity, she developed a significant book of business and earned a reputation as a knowledgeable Benefits Consultant. Prior to that, Lydia worked for two major insurance carriers; experience which assists her in understanding and negotiating contracts.
Lydia has a degree in Business from Glendale College in Arizona. She has attended Cal State Hayward and Golden Gate University in her continuing education and has completed the HIAA series. Lydia is a Broker and Advisor for several major insurance companies and an active member of the Northern California Employee Benefits Council.
Laura Ann Bartlett, CEBS -Senior Vice President Employee Benefits
Ms. Bartlett has over twenty years experience in the field of employee benefits and qualified retirement plans, including a variety of sales, senior management, and consulting positions. She joined the ABD in 1997 and developed a highly successful practice focused on qualified retirement plan consulting. In 2003, she assumed her current position in New Business Development for all employee benefit practice areas. Clients benefit from her extensive and broad-based experience in sales, marketing, and product development on the insurance carrier side.
She received her B.A. degree in English from Southern Illinois University and then pursued her MBA at the University of Illinois-Chicago. In addition, she is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), a Fellow in the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists, and a member of the Western Pension and Benefits Conference.. Currently, she is pursuing the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
Ms. Bartlett is a NASD registered representative and principal of ABD Financial Services, the broker-dealer subsidiary of ABD Insurance and Financial Services. In addition to a California life insurance license, she maintains NASD Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses. Ms. Bartlett is a frequent speaker on retirement plan issues that affect employer plan sponsors, and is a member of many mutual fund industry councils.
