In 2009, Jennie began teaching at the second largest high school East of the Mississippi. At the end of her second year of teaching, she launched the beta classroom blog with a post that read: "I am a teacher on a mission to give my students access to the benefits of the revolution in educational technology. Such benefits are not equitably distributed, and my objective is to change that." That mission led her to cofound edUpgrade and spend the summer of 2012 as one of Edsurge's first classroom correspondents and the founding Teacher In Residence at ImagineK12.
Today, Jennie is the Innovation Manager at KIPP Bay Area schools where she helps school leaders, teachers and students accesses and effectively use awesome technologies to improve his or her outcomes. In her day to day, Jennie is particularly focused on leading the region's Technology Specialist Community of Practice (#SealTeamTech), creating resources to define and support excellence in personalized teaching, and developing the systems that make data actionable.
