Kittu Kolluri, Co-Founder of Healtheon and Neoteris (recently aquired by Juniper Networks)

    About the Presenter

Krishna “Kittu” Kolluri serves as the vice president and general manager of Juniper Networks’ Secure Products Group. He joined Juniper Networks through the acquisition of NetScreen Technologies in April 2004 for approximately $4 billion. Prior to this he was general manager of Secure Access Products at NetScreen, a position he assumed following Netscreen’s acquisition of Neoteris in November 2003 for approximately $295 million, the leader of SSL-based secure access infrastructure. At Neoteris, he served as president and chief executive officer.

Kolluri has more than 15 years of experience at the leading edge of the technology industry, first taking on engineering and management roles in the early days of Silicon Graphics, then co-founding Healtheon to introduce healthcare online. Healtheon merged with WebMD in November 1999 in a deal worth approximately $5.5 billion. Kolluri left Healtheon/WebMD in November 2000 as senior vice president and general manager of Provider Services. After a six month break from Healtheon, Kolluri then took over as president and chief executive officer of Neoteris, where he helped with the strategy and direction of the company, directed the creation of the Instant Virtual Extranet (IVE) technologies market category, and raised venture funding and built a stellar executive team.

Under Kolluri’s leadership at Neoteris, the company excelled and grew considerably, passing multiple corporate and product milestones. Despite the general freeze on technology spending in 2002, Neoteris attracted customers and partners at an unprecedented rate. Kolluri built a company respected as much for its stellar team and fiscal management as for its category creation and leading Instant Virtual Extranet technology.

At Healtheon/WebMD, Kolluri managed engineering for the company in its early days, later moving through key operational and business development roles as the company grew. His last role before joining Neoteris was senior vice president and general manager of Provider Services. Before co-founding Healtheon/WebMD, Kolluri worked at Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) where he initially managed developer products, later moving into management of high profile Interactive TV projects.

Kolluri’s educational background includes an MSCS from University of California Santa Cruz, an MS in Operations Research from SUNY Buffalo and a B. Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India.
