    Webware is a term that some are using to describe applications that live on the Internet. Familiar Webware applications such as Travelocity, Mapquest and Google are soon to be supplemented by a new generation of applications that offer users significant new capabilities and power. Paul McNamara, CEO of Coghead and former Red Hat pioneer, uses a historical perspective on the democratization of information to lend clarity to the potential for Webware. He also discusses the business opportunities that this new era will create.
