Silicon Valley VCs and Startups With Core Foreign Operations

Although the United States is a world leader in technology innovation and consumption, to get to new opportunities institutional investors are looking increasingly at startups with foreign operations that are a significant focus for the company - both development/management operations and core customer markets.  Come listen to both CEOs and investors talk about the unique opportunities and issues they face when raising money (CEO perspective) and investing in companies where the main businesses and operations (and sometimes the entities themselves) are not U.S. based.

    Topics to be Explored Include:

    >  Most frequent issues for CEO's when explaining their foreign operations/market focus

    >  Diligence on companies that are largely abroad -special issues and approaches

    >  Does the foreign focused company need to have some base here - top management at least, what is enough?

    >  How do you get comfortable with macro risks - laws and governments, in foreign settings?

    >  Entity/structure issues - do you use the Canadian company or India company, or do you force a U.S. structure?

    >  Does the valuation change relative to where the company is?  Is it a U.S. valuation or those used in Ireland?

    >  Which deal terms apply - those of Silicon Valley or the other locations?

Come listen to those CEOs and investors that have recently faced these issues and hear how they address the concerns and find solutions to make the deals happen.

    experience in the IT sector.

In 1999, Santi founded his own company, AXG Tecnonexo, the largest e-learning vendor in Latin America.
