Presentation and Pitch Session: Come listen and pitch to XSeed Capital’s Robert Siegel
Founded in 2006 as one of the pioneers of the new venture industry, XSeed Capital works with entrepreneurs to build differentiated technology startups that dramatically change markets. The firm’s team are all serial entrepreneurs who appreciate the dedication, passion, anxiety and sleepless nights it takes to build something valuable from scratch. With $110 million under management, XSeed makes its initial investment commitments at the seed stage and continue to support portfolio companies through multiple investment rounds.
Robert Siegel is a General Partner at XSeed Capital, with extensive leadership in strategy definition, operational execution, and international sales and marketing for companies large and small. Prior to XSeed, Robert served in upper management at GE Security, Pixim (acquired by Sony), Weave Innovations (acquired by Kodak), and Intel, among others. He is currently on faculty at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, has co-authored several articles for California Management Review, and served as lead researcher for Andy Grove’s book Only the Paranoid Survive.
Learn about their perspectives as to what is they are interested in, what they are investing in and how they operate. We will also talk about their approach to working with companies, and how they are different from other venture capital firms. We will discuss some of the common traits of those companies selected to present to their partnership and those which ultimately were funded.
We will select up to 8 companies to do a 3-minute pitch followed by 3 minutes of feedback.

Moderator: John Lee is a director in SVB's Entrepreneur Services Group. Lee establishes banking relationships with early stage technology companies. Lee also assists early and mid-stage technology companies with raising capital through review and feedback on investment materials and targeted introductions to venture capital firms and other investors. In addition, Lee provides relevant market insights and connections to strategic partners. Lee focuses on the enterprise and infrastructure software and hardware sectors, including cloud computing and SaaS, data management and storage, security, semiconductors, mobile and consumer electronic devices, data centers and broadband networks. Prior to his current role, Lee served as a relationship manager for SVB's Emerging Technologies Practice, providing commercial banking services to early stage companies in the technology, life sciences, cleantech, angel and venture capital industries. Before joining SVB, Lee worked at Societe Generale, Union Bank of California, and Bank of America, focusing on technology, communications, and media companies. While completing his undergraduate studies, Lee worked at Intel, conducting research and analysis of competitive semiconductor design and manufacturing technologies. Lee holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Stanford University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
