    Gerald Brady

    Gerald Brady, Managing Director of Siemens Mobile Acceleration brings extensive experience in international sales, business development, product management and strategy, including licensing and channel development. As Managing Director, Brady is responsible for identifying young and innovative wireless technology companies and investing in and managing these respective ventures.

    Prior to Siemens, Brady served as Director at 3i where he helped identify and invest in a broad range of early-stage software and communications companies spanning the VolP, wireless software, OSS, audio software and network services sectors. He represented 3i on the Board of Bitfone and Pagoo and was actively involved as a Board Observer with Intelliden, Octiv and Viair.

    Brady was part of the founding team at ZDNet (Europe) and Yahoo! UK. While at Yahoo! UK, he was responsible for sales and product management. Previously, he was an executive at Ziff-Davis and EMAP Plc (FTSE-100).

    Brady holds an MBA from Cranfield University and an honors degree in history from Kingston University. He sits on the advisory board of Golden Gate Capital, a West Coast conference committee for early stage funding and venture capital communities. Brady is also a Fellow of the Royal Society Of Arts.

    Valerie Buckingham

    Ms. Buckingham is a Bay Area Principal for Nokia Innovent, an entrepreneurial innovation unit of the Nokia Ventures Organization. Previous to Innovent, she was CEO and Founder of web privacy firm MEconomy. She was an early employee at Personify, a Bay Area web profiling and behavioral analysis start-up, where as an Analyst she consulted with marketers to apply data-derived insight to marketing strategy, and to implement and integrate the overall solution.

    Previous to Personify, Valerie worked in Chicago as a Business Development Manager in the Multi Media Division of Motorola as well as in the Internet Products and Services Group to develop value-added Internet applications and service concepts for Motorola networks. She opened the Silicon Valley office for Motorola's Broadband Wireless Systems group in Palo Alto, where she worked with a team developing next generation broadband content product plans. Valerie started in Paramount Television's Interactive division, where she worked as a Creative Director for the Gateway group in Boulder developing a local online content business aimed at leveraging Paramount and Viacom's entertainment assets.

    Ms. Buckingham holds a Masters degree in Business Administration with a focus on Technology & Entrepreneurship from the University of Victoria and UBC, as well as a Masters Degree in Fine Arts specializing in Intermedia from the University of British Columbia. She is an advisory board member of the Women's Technology Center, and an active member of the Silicon Valley Forum for Women Entrepreneurs.

    Alay Desai

    Alay works with select group of venture capitalists and startup companies to identify opportunity areas for partnerships, communicate Microsoft's vision and roadmap, and develop Microsoft partner ecosystem.

    Alay brings over a decade of experience in design, development, and management of distributed systems from companies such as Morgan Stanley, UBS, and Bell Labs. Prior to joining Microsoft, Alay was with Stario, an e-CRM startup where he was responsible for technology and business development.

    Alay has a BE Electronics and Communication Engineering from India, MS Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rutgers, and MBA Finance and Strategic Management from Wharton School of Business.

    Phillip Korn

    Philip is a team leader in the bank’s Peninsula Division based in Palo Alto. His group manages over 400 client relationships with technology and life sciences companies and provides a unique combination of products and services specifically geared towards very early stage companies. These services include access to industry specific entrepreneurial and investor events and referrals to key partners and alliances. Financial products offered include equipment term loans, accounts receivables financing, merchant card accounts, corporate credit cards and standby letters of credit. Client companies are typically bootstrapped or backed by angel investors. Philip has worked at Silicon Valley Bank since 1998 and prior to that spent four years in trade finance at commercial banks and held international banking positions within the Federal Reserve System. Philip holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the from Thunderbird (American Graduate School of International Management).

    Pradeep Tagare

    Pradeep Tagare is a Sr. Investment Manager at Intel Capital focusing on investments in the enterprise software space. Prior to Intel Capital, Pradeep was the Founder/CEO and later VP Products at Yopa Inc, a venture-backed company that developed a mobile applications software platform. Yopa was acquired by XDrive Technologies in 2001. Pradeep served as VP Product Management at XDrive after the acquisition. Before Yopa, Pradeep was instrumental in BroadVision's early success by driving the Financial Services product line. Pradeep honed his technical skills in the software division of Intel Corp developing large scale distributed computing applications, and at Inference Corp. developing carrier-grade expert systems applications. Pradeep holds a MSEE from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a BEEE from the University of Bombay, India.
