Each startup will have six minutes to describe how their business will make our planet smarter. You have an opportunity to listen and vote (along with a panel of judges) for the top two companies who will move on to the interview stage of IBM’s SmartCamp. Make sure to stick around for the networking reception where we'll announce the two companies selected. #SmartcampSVF

    Lea Bajc -Investor, Northzone
    Lea is an Investment Manager at Northzone Ventures, a leading European Venture Capital Partnership with a Nordic stronghold, focusing on early- and expansion-stage investments in the technology sector. Previously, Lea founded an advisory business specializing in the digital media and consumer internet space. Prior to business school, Lea spent five years at Morgan Stanley in Paris and London, where she completed rotations through the Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, Private Equity, and Leveraged Finance divisions. While at Morgan Stanley, Lea identified, evaluated, structured and negotiated a wide variety of transactions.     Deborah Magid - Director of Software Strategy, IBM Venture Capital Group
    Deborah Magid represents IBM’s $25 B software business in the company’s 12-year old Venture Capital Group. Her expertise spans several industries. Deborah is responsible for sharing insights about emerging markets, technologies, and business models with venture firms and entrepreneurs around the world. She scouts for emerging business opportunities, and shares views on innovation and growth areas of the market. As a director of strategy in IBM Software Group, she also brings insight from the venture community to the development of IBM’s growth strategies. Deborah is responsible for fueling the ecosystem pipeline in strategic areas related to building a “smarter planet” and contributes to filling out the IBM product portfolio through M&A.     Bipin Sahni - Senior Vice President, Innovation, Research and Development, Wells Fargo & Company
    Bipin Sahni is a vice president in Wells Fargo’s Wholesale Banking group. As the manager of the Wholesale Architecture & CEO-Mobile application development team, Bipin is responsible for providing and setting the direction for the application architecture for the wholesale banking products rendered through our CEO Portal, he also is responsible for application development of the CEO-Mobile channel. Bipin also leads the Research & Development team, which is constantly looking for new technologies, to fill gaps in the technology area. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Bipin, started out as application developer in India, working for Hexaware InfoSystems and then moved to become the lead for the production databases for Wells Fargo, supporting the wholesale Lob’s.     Adiba Barney is the CEO of SVForum - Silicon Valley´s largest and oldest non-profit organization, dedicated to educating and creating relationships within the technology and startup community. She was prior to that the Executive Director of Silicon Vikings, a non-profit business networking organization connecting the Nordic´s innovation and startup ecosystem to Silicon Valley. Prior to Silicon Vikings, Adiba initiated, developed, and launched Innovative Sweden, a world tour exhibition promoting Sweden as an innovative country by showcasing a new generation of Swedish innovations. Prior to the Innovative Sweden project, Adiba worked for 13 years within the Swedish innovation ecosystem, where she focused on creating sustainable networking platforms, developing/executing high-profile PR projects, and coaching hundreds of startup entrepreneurs in international marketing, business development, market entry, communication, PR and branding.

Also, the dramatic expansion of clinical trial activities in the emerging world, has led to additional data collection & compliance challenges and hence opportunities for the e-clinical industry. At CliniOps, we have developed a tablet-based eSource solution (CliniTrial), to optimize the data management process, through our patent pending technology. Our solution allows for the seamless capture of trusted and secured data, from various study sites around the world, leading to increased protocol adherence and regulatory compliance. We have also introduced multiple innovations and integrations leading to a fully automated clinical trial workflow.

    Seevider ia a start-up company founded in Jan., 2013 located in Santa Clara, CA. Seevider want to be the global market leader in Connected Vision Service market for Smart City, Smart parking, Vehicle to Infra-structure(V2I),Surveillance mornitoring through Seevider's Smart Vision Sensor. Smart Vision Sensor can provide connectivity service that give you an easier, more reliable way to data, people and resources for Smart City solutions.

     

    Verdafero Inc. -- Power Management Tools for utility industry 
    Founded in 2009, Verdafero provides utility management tools and services for some of the best known companies & brands in the world. In May 2014 we were invited by the White House and Department of Energy to showcase our software solution at the 2014 Energy Data Palooza in Washington DC.   

     

    Exabyte Inc. – High-fidelity results of high performance computing simulations
    Web service for researchers to obtain high-fidelity results of high performance computing simulations at a fraction of a cost associated with owning equally performing hardware, software and field expertise.

     

    Cirrus Identity – Identity solutions for higher education campuses
    Cirrus Identity offers cloud-hosted identity solutions that enable higher education campuses to quickly and easily leverage the use of social identities (Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) for accessing local and shared university services. This streamlines access for incoming students who might want to enroll, and alumni who might want to donate. Our product is in use at Brown University, Penn State, Carnegie Mellon, and the University of Maryland.

     

    Grush Corporation – Internet-enabled Toothbrush, leveraging Big Data
    Grush transforms the brushing chore into a fun and interactive game. Motion sensing brush and mobile games guide kids' brushing and lets parents track results through a cloud based system.   Grush is a true IoT solution, providing data through the mobile device that is paired with and on which the gaming portion operates, tied to a back-end cloud environment where the frequency, duration, and proper application of good brushing methods are stored.
