The Common Language Runtime (CLR) is the central component of the Microsoft .NET Framework, that provides an execution environment for programming languages which generate Microsoft Intermediate Language (MSIL). We will cover the basic architecture, some runtime details, and demonstrate some of cross language interoperability that is enabled.
Brad Merrill is a Software Engineer at Microsoft, on the .NET Framework Integration team, working with 3rd party programming language vendors who are implementing their languages on the Microsoft .NET Framework.
