Windows SIG: Microsoft Virtualization Solutions

The topic of our meeting is virtualization solutions on the Microsoft platform which includes the following.
- Application Virtualization
- Presentation Virtualization
- Desktop Virtualization
- Server Virtualization
- Storage Virtualization
There will be demos of the new Hyper-V in Windows Server 2008 R2, App-V and Windows Virtual PC and Virtual XP Mode in Windows 7. Finally, the session will wrap up with a discussion of the impact virtualization is having on IT budgets including reductions in power usage and changes to procurement and provisioning.
Our presenter is Scott Mauvais. Scott has been an architect at Microsoft for the past eight years. Currently he is the Technical Director of the Microsoft Technology Center in Silicon Valley where he leads Architecture Design Sessions and runs Proof of Concept labs for Microsoft's global customers. Prior to joining the MTC, Scott worked for Microsoft Consulting Services where he ran early stage projects for customers in Microsoft's Early Adopter Program. For three years he wrote the Developer Feature column for Microsoft Press.
