The Windows Forms Roadmap
The next release of Visual Studio, code named "Whidbey," will radically improve developer productivity while continuing to provide full access to the Microsoft .NET Framework. Among many other new features, this release introduces a technology codenamed ClickOnce that allows developers to write Windows Forms applications that utilize the powerful features of the client, yet are as hassle-free to deploy and update as a Web page.
Along with the upcoming "Longhorn" release of the operating system, the "Orcas" release of Visual Studio offers support for Longhorn's advanced user interface capabilities (code name "Avalon"), and a declarative programming model (code name "XAML") that will complement Windows Forms by improving productivity when developing Longhorn-specific client UI.
With all this new technology coming down the road, what does the roadmap for Windows Forms look like? Here's your chance to hear it directly from the Product Team that is actively defining and building it. This presentation will include a demonstration of some of the new things on the horizon, followed by an in-depth Q&A period.
