Design Patterns and J2EE
Design patterns have long held much currency in the software world. With the advent of J2EE, they've been getting more and more attention. Several groups are actively evangelizing J2EE patterns, including twoseparate groups within Sun.
So how do you actually implement design patterns in J2EE?
What are the challenges and opportunities associated with leveraging design patterns in your J2EE projects?
Walter Hurst, CTO of Wakesoft, will talk about various J2EE design patterns and strategies for best deploying them. The discussion will cover patterns across the presentation, business logic and integration layers. Some patterns that might be discussed include:
- Front Controller
- Business Delegate
- Session Facade
- Value Object
- Value Object Assembler
- Data Access Object
Peter and Tom will discuss how reliable, asynchronous messaging allows developers to more easily build more compelling applications than they can with existing web technology.
