Java SIG: JBoss Messaging and Terracotta clustering with Geronimo

    First Half:

    JBoss Messaging

    Ovidiu Feoderov, Project Lead will provide an architecural overview of the NEW JBoss Messaging including its enterprise class Transaction, Security, High Availability features.


    Second Half:

    Terracotta clustering with Geronimo

    Ari Zilka (CTO) & Orion Letizi. They will cover Terracotta enabled clustering using Apache Geronimo.



    Ovidiu Feodorov

    Ovidiu Feodorov is the JBoss Messaging project lead and a core developer for JBoss, a division of Red Hat. He has been programming Java for the last ten years. His interests range from reliable multicasting and group communication to messaging and enterprise-grade middleware. He and his team are currently busy building the next generation Open Source messaging system.


    Ari Zilka

    Ari Zilka is CTO and co-founder of Terracotta. Previously, Ari was the Chief Architect at, where he led the innovation and development of the company's new engineering initiatives. At, he built and led a team of core engineers focused on performance management, and operations cost-saving measures. Prior to, Ari worked as a consultant at Sapient and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

    Ari's career started as a software engineer for a subsidiary of Motorola, where he wrote groundbreaking wireless paging software. Since then, his software development accomplishments also include projects revolving around statistical analysis and data warehousing. In the mid 1990's, Ari invented a new object relational database that still exceeds the capabilities and performance of database technology today.

    Ari holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering Computer Science as well as in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Berkeley.


    Orion Letizi

    Orion Letizi is a co-founder and software engineer at Terracotta, working on their JVM-level clustering product, Open Terracotta. He has worked in enterprise Java for nearly ten years. Before Terracotta, he was a software architect at
