    Presentation Overview

Developments at the Oracle Voice Laboratory

Oracle products are powering the mobile and voice revolutions. Oracle9iAS Wireless is the only true multi-channel platform that enables developers to create a service once, and then deliver the service via voice and small-screen devices.

In addition to providing the infrastructure, the Oracle Voice Laboratory (OVL) has developed a set of enhanced voice services and built a full-featured My.Oracle voice portal. The voice services are 100% VoiceXML-compliant and thus speech-recognition neutral, enabling Oracle’s customers to choose from a number of commercially available voice gateways and speech technologies. Oracle’s mobile and voice applications include personalized news & information, personal information management (address book, e-mail, calendar, voice dialing, etc), corporate directory, driving directions, yellow pages, flight status, and many more. The OVL has also developed techniques for implementing non-VoiceXML features, while still living within the VoiceXML specification.
