    Greetings SDForum - Mobile Internet SIG member and guests:
    The next meeting will be focused on the the Google – Android mobile handset operating system. A basic overview of the OS, covering technical aspects and the eCommerce store called Android Market.   This presentation will lean towards application building, technical perspective.
    About Marakana:
    Marakana is a privately-held company based in San Francisco, California.
    Since 2001, we have been advancing IT professionals by providing an extensive range of development and training services on open source software solutions and agile practices.
    Always pushing the envelope, we are constantly exploring new fields of knowledge as well as new training methodologies to better serve our clients. We pride ourselves by standing by our commitment to assist IT professionals get to the next level, by being in tune with our customers' actual needs.

    We believe in using technology to deliver a superior customer experience. Over the years, we have created a Training Management Platform we call Marakana Spark. It's been run our business more effectively and recently we have started offering it to other training companies.
    The following sectors will be presented:
    1) Google Android overview - a concept for deploying a TV series to multiple platforms and connecting its community of fans using locative media.
    2) Technical aspects – landscape overview, app development and a ‘hello world’ demo
    3)  Android Market -- eCommerce storefront or App Store called

    Marko Gargenta an industry recognized expert for Android platform at Marakana. He's been programming in Open Source, Java since mid 90's and now a leader for Android development. Marko developed ‘the’ Marakana Android training courses and has thought Android for companies such as Sony Ericsson and Ericsson. He is also a co-founder of the SF Android Developer Group.
