Description

  • Topic: There are many varying approaches to building a strong brand and many varying ideas about exactly what a brand is - especially here in the technology capital of the world. This presentation will provide an overview of branding, the definition, value, and what it takes to build a strong brand - all with a Silicon Valley perspective. Drawing on conversations with brand professionals from top companies through Silicon Valley over the past decade, I will share challenges and solutions that brand managers face in Silicon Valley, especially ones who manage brands in companies driven by brilliant but brand-challenged technologists.

Presenter:  Kevin Heney is the founder and executive director of the Silicon Valley Brand Forum. He has over twenty years experience managing identity, creative services and brand for high tech companies in Silicon Valley. He managed Creative Services at Tandem Computers for 11 years and also provided brand and creative direction at Informix, Quantum, and Informatica. In 2000, he founded the Silicon Valley Brand Forum, an organization dedicated to providing a forum for brand professionals to share best practices and challenges in brand management. Kevin Heney has provided brand and identity consulting to companies throughout the Bay Area and beyond since 2001.
