    Presentation Overview

Business Requirements: Why Project Managers Should Care
The dirty secret is that no one does them. We talk about them. We quickly throw some words into a business case that we know won’t get read. Examine key reasons why your boss doesn’t value business requirements and get quick tips to get their attention and improve your project success.

A big project problem happens when business requirements are missing. Management expects you to move quickly. So you don’t interview senior leadership for their expectations. Misunderstanding about project scope begins to creep in . Control gates reviews are no fun since everyone is arguing about what the product should “really” do. Timelines are pushed out ….Morale goes down…. It is ugly in project land.

Project success begins early when you describe business requirements in a clear manner. This rallies organization agreement, verifies the project scope, and validates that the project solution will satisfy customer needs. Learn how you can develop effective business requirements to improve project success.
    3 Key Learning Points:
    • Overcome challenges in working with senior leadership
    • Participants will be presented with various techniques to describe and model business requirements
    • You will walk away with understanding how to sell the value of documenting business requirements
