International SIG: The next International SIG will provide an opportunity for an international private equity panel to update the status of global investments, opportunities and … well, they’ll speak about their experience.
INSEAD and other EU business schools are partnering for this meeting.

Danny Cohen, General Partner, Gemini
Daniel Cohen is a General Partner at Gemini, specializing in Consumer Internet, Digital Media and Software-as-a-Service investments. He sits on the Board of Gemini companies Adap.TV, Confidela, Outbrain, SupportSpace and Verix. Danny is also on the board of the Lightspeed Gemini Internet lab. Danny is based in Israel, yet managing the fund’s operation in the US and providing portfolio companies with a direct link to the technology and VC activity in California.
Previously, Danny was a Principal at Gemini, responsible for the Fund’s deal flow and deal sourcing process. He has participated in the investment process of over a dozen Gemini companies, including eSnips, dbMotion, Business Events, Allot, TriSixty and Mirage Innovations. Danny is an active blogger, writing about Israeli technology, consumer internet, rock music, and sports (Check: Israel Venture Capital 2.0)

Danny earned an MBA from INSEAD and a BA in Computer Science & Psychology from Tel-Aviv University. He is a graduate of the Kauffman Fellows Program.
Jai Choi , PartechJai joined Partech International in 2007 and focuses on wireless and consumer/digital media investments including online gaming. Jai also leads Partech’s business development initiatives in Asia. Jai brings a combination of marketing, operational and international experience to Partech.
Prior to Partech, Jai was a principal at the IGNITE Group, a $250M venture fund composed of strategic limited partners from Japan and Korea. Jai invested in over a dozen companies at Ignite across the wireless and consumer area including SyChip (Murata), Acca Networks/Acca Wimax (Jasdaq IPO), Reflectivity (Texas Instruments), and Azteq Mobile. For over six years, Jai traveled extensively to Japan and Korea building Ignite's business development relationships with major Asian carriers and consumer OEM’s.
Jai holds a Bachelor Science in Finance and Business Economics from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He is also a recipient of the SCion's academic scholarship. Jai serves on the Executive Committee of the Korean IT Network (KIN).
Mr. Lee has more than ten years of experience in venture capital investing, and more than 20 years of experience in research, development, and marketing in emerging and established technology companies and research institutions. He was most recently Executive Director and Co-Head for US Private Equity at CDIB Capital, the private equity arm of CDIB, the largest industrial bank in Taiwan. He led the venture and growth equity LP investments, led the direct investment effort in the US and established the Clean Technology practice at CDIB Capital. He was based in Menlo Park, Calif.
Prior to CDIB Capital, Mr. Lee was a venture consultant at CVM Capital, a venture fund with offices in Taipei, Silicon Valley, and Shanghai, and sponsored by CDIB. Before joining CVM Capital, Mr. Lee was a General Partner at Crystal Ventures, a venture capital firm that focused on early-stage
infrastructure and enabling technology companies in both the US and Asia. At Crystal Ventures he led communications-related investments. Prior to Crystal Ventures, Mr. Lee was Vice President of global venture capital firm Crimson Ventures in 1999, where he led communications infrastructure investments in the US. Prior to Crimson, he was Vice President and co-founder of Volendam Capital Advisors, a venture fund that invests in emerging growth high technology companies in the US and Europe, including communications and interactive software. Mr. Lee has held management positions in product management and marketing at Applied Materials and has worked as a research investigator in optoelectronics and semiconductor materials at the US Army Research Labs. He has also held engineering positions at IBM and Unisys.
As a venture capitalist, Mr. Lee led investments in Bookham Technologies ( IPO NASDAQ:BKHM), Anda Networks, LGC Wireless (acquired by ADC), Infinera (IPO NASDAQ: IFN), and Infravio (acquired by Web Methods). He was the 2d lead on Transmedia (acquired by Cisco) and RF Solutions (acquired by Anadigics). As an LP, he led investments in Tenaya Capital Partners (Lehman Brothers Venture Partners) and Oak Hill Capital Partners.
Mr. Lee holds a BS (Highest Honors) in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Electro-Optics from Cornell University, and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
