And lessons from past media forms offer important hints about the trajectory of innovations to come. In fact, as we stand on the threshold of innovations from VoIP to RIFD, the year most like 2004 may be 1954. Innovators and revolutionaries eager to change the future thus ignore the past at their peril.

    Speaker Bio: Paul Saffo

    Paul Saffo (bio) is Director and Roy Amara Fellow a the Institutue for the Future. He is a technology forecaster advising a wide range of global clients on the long-term impact of emerging technologies on business and society. His books include Dreams in Silicon Valley and The Road From Trinity.
