    Angels at SDForum! If you're seeking funding but aren't quite ready to meet with VCs, maybe you need an angel. This is your opportunity to connect with members of The Angel Breakfast Club. Two teams of Angel investors will be hosting an exclusive all-day one-on-one session with start-up members of SDForum.

    Angel Breakfast Club (ABC) actively works with early stage software, Internet, and communications companies in Silicon Valley by providing capital, contacts, industry knowledge, and hands-on skills. ABC seeks to enhance the experience for budding entrepreneurs by providing extra assistance and education with the promise of uncovering outstanding investment opportunities.

    ABC members are individuals that exhibit exceptional abilities in the incubation and management of early stage technology companies and are active in Silicon Valley's entrepreneurial and investment communities. These individuals either represent early stage venture capital funds or are entrepreneurs and executives that have held leadership roles in emerging software, Internet, and communications companies.

    Anchor Rick Thau

    Mr. Thau is a consultant/mentor/advisor, and investor in early stage information technology companies. From 1990 to 1999, Mr. Thau was CEO and a founder of FullTime Software (formerly Qualix Group) the market-leading provider of Reliability and Service Level Availability software for network based computing. Previously, he was CEO of Micro-MRP (the leader in Manufacturing Planning and Control Software), and held Vice Presidential and General Management positions in computer graphics, information appliance, and information services businesses. Mr. Thau holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering Sciences from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and has attended the MBA program at Santa Clara University.

    Anchor Steve Swernofsky 

    Mr. Swernofsky is a Managing Attorney with the Swernofsky Law Group PC which provides strategic intellectual property advice and prosecution services to many publicly traded and emerging high-technology companies. The firm is primarily involved with computer systems, software, and Internet-related companies but also works with a wide variety of other technologies.

    Mr. Swernofsky holds a Bachelors degree and performed graduate studies in Computer Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He holds a J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles.

    Anchor Ed Supplee

    Mr. Supplee has extensive financial and operating experience in the software and telecom equipment industries, most recently serving as Senior Vice President Finance at COLO.COM, a firm that provides colocation facilities to ISPs and telecom companies. In 1997-1999, he prepared UTStarcom, Inc for IPO, grew revenue and improved profitability. Previous to that, he took Spectrian Corporation public and quadrupled the company’s valuation. He’s also held key positions with DEMAX Software Inc., Quickturn Systems Inc., AIDA Corp., Visicorp and others. He holds a BS in Business from Washington & Lee University as well as an MBA in Finance/Accounting from Emory University.

    Anchor Steve Bennet

    Mr. Bennet is Managing Director of Bodega Partners, a venture catalyst and management consulting firm that assists early stage software and Internet companies in strategic planning, business development, and interim management. In the past eight years with Bodega, he has personally helped over sixty companies meet their strategic and financing goals. In the course of this work, he has also held the positions of President, COO, CFO and VP of Business Development for a number of early stage technology ventures. Red Herring recognized Bodega Partners as a leading technology consulting firm in both 1998 and 1999.

    In addition to his work at Bodega Partners, he is a Venture Partner at iMinds Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm. He is also an instructor at UC Berkeley, teaching "Financing the Software Venture." He is currently on the Board of Anonymizer, a leader in Internet security and privacy and on the Investment Committee of the UCLA Venture Capital Fund, the first fund to support academic programs at a public university.

    Prior to forming Bodega Partners, Steve held positions in consulting, product marketing and corporate finance at Bay Logics, Digital Microwave Corporation, and Arthur Andersen He holds a B.S. in Economics from Wharton and an MBA from UCLA and is also a licensed CPA.
