    Dan Arkind, Indico

    Presentation Overview

Let's face it. Most of us would like to raise millions of dollars in funding. Yet the reality is that venture capitalists fund only a fraction of companies that get started every year. Furthermore, venture capital funding comes with a serious set of strings attached. That's why many people, either out of choice, or out of necessity, turn to bootstrapping.

Bootstrapping is a time-honored tradition. Bill Hewlett and David Packard started HP in a garage in Palo Alto. Michael Dell started Dell in his college dorm room. And Bill Gates and Paul Allen started Microsoft on their own dime.

Despite these success stories, bootstrapping isn't easy. It's much harder to start a company when you have to pinch your pennies until they scream. But with the right tips and tricks, you can make bootstrapping work for you, especially in an age where a domain name and a year's worth of Web hosting cost less than a new DVD.

To help us with our discussion, we're pleased to welcome guest speaker Dan Arkind. Dan is the founder of the Indico Group, which he has been successfully bootstrapping for the past several years. Dan will share his experiences with the highs and lows of bootstrapping, and share the lessons that he has learned.

As usual, we will restrict attendance to the first 25 founders and CEOs that sign up, so sign up fast!
