FF SIG: How We Founded And Grew nVidia

  • Monthly Meeting of the Founders Forum SIG

Chris Malachowsky, Co-founder and VP Hardware Engineering of nVidia

    Presentation Overview

Just over 11 years ago, Chris Malachowsky, Jen-Hsun Huang, and Curtis Priem founded a company to create the world's first mainstream multimedia processor. At the time, the United States was in a devastating recession following the Gulf War, the average PC cost $3,000 with a clock speed around 50 mHz, and Sega was the leading videogame manufacturer.

Fast-forward to today, and the company that they founded, nVidia, is the world leader in graphics processing chips. Each of nVidia's GeForce GPUs is powerful enough to render Jurassic Park's pioneering photorealistic computer graphics in real time, on a $500 PC. And the little company that three friends started in 1993 has a market cap of almost $4 billion, and employs over 1,500 people.

This month, the Founders Forum is delighted to present nVidia co-founder and VP of Hardware Engieering Chris Malachowsky as our guest speaker. Chris will talk about how he started nVidia, how his role as founder has changed over time, and offer his advice to today's entrepreneurs (who are trying to start new companies while the United States struggles out of a recession and the aftereffects of a second Gulf War).

As usual, we will restrict attendance to the first 50 founders and CEOs that sign up, so sign up fast!
