Emerging Tech SIG: New Business Opportunities Leveraging Web APIS
The Monthly Meeting of the Emerging Technology SIG
For the past 5 years, we've all heard about how web services are going to transform the software industry. And over the past three years, most of the major (and many of the minor) internet sites and services have begun to offer key features and functionality via web-services APIS (and have begun to compete with each other over the depth and breadth of their offerings). In short, the amount of functionality offered to independent developers via these web-apis is truly staggering these days.
Like any change to the computing infrastructure, this one has created significant opportunities for new startups.
Join us in October for a panel discussion on what these new APIs have made possible, where the industry is going, and which areas are ripe for investment.

- Adam Trachtenberg, E-Bay
- Chris DiBona, Google APIs
