Emerging Tech SIG: Disrupting VoIP via Adhearsion

    Topic: Disrupting VoIP via Adhearsion

Speaker: Speaker: Jay Phillips, Founder, Codemecca

Join us in June for a different take on the future of VoIP apps and the web. Jay Phillips is the inventor of Adhearsion, a relatively new Ruby-based framework that brings the concept of a "voice application" to the crufty and integration-adverse domain of Asterisk, the most popular open-source PBX platform. This talk covers best practices of developing sophisticated VoIP applications using the open-source Adhearsion framework, and provides a good sense for what kinds of new telephony apps are within the near-term reach of the average startup "garage team".

Adhearsion developers write Ruby code using the intuitive APIs that Adhearsion exposes and leave the complex telephony domain to Adhearsion. If you’re new to VoIP development, add a new technology to your bag of tricks and give it a shot! The barrier to entry has never been lower.

Jay Phillips is an innovator in the spaces where sophisticated VoIP development falls apart and where Ruby rocks. As the creator of Adhearsion and its parent company Codemecca, Jay brings new possibilities to these two technologies through his work on the open-source Adhearsion framework.
